The column headed "Obs" gives
the percentage of nights on which observation was possible on the
assumption that 3/8 cloud or less is observable and 4/8 or more
is not.
The maximum/minimum temperatures are monthly mean daytime maximum
and nighttime minimum air temperatures measured in the shade.
The column headed "Dark(h)" lists the hours of
astronomical darkness or the time between the end of astronomical
twilight in the evening and the beginning of astronomical
twilight in the morning. That is the time each night for which
the Sun is more than 18o below the horizon. No account
it taken of moonlight.
All figures except sea temperature are based on actual
measurements made at COAA.
