Choose your instrument and Syntonia shows you an easy-to-understand display of the notes that your instrument is playing. You can play the strings all at the same time and Syntonia will sort it all out. At a glance, you can see and correct any pitch variations, due to either the basic tuning of the instrument or to the way that the instrument is being played. The accuracy of your tuning and playing will quickly make a huge leap forward when you use Syntonia.

Graphical tuning display
Syntonia shows you the actual pitch that your instrument is creating using a model of the neck of the instrument. Any variations from the nominal pitch are clearly shown.

Polyphonic
Syntonia displays complete chords as they are played - not just single notes.

Tuning reference
Syntonia includes a built-in precise reference concert pitch A (400Hz) tuning signal.

Custom instruments
Syntonia is configured to display a tuning wizard for five stringed instruments. Out of the box, the program is set up for the Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass and Guitar. If you play any other stringed instruments, Syntonia can be configured to display the corresponding tuning wizard with a just few clicks of the mouse.

Synthesizer
You can interact with the graphical display to make Syntonia synthesize the exact pitch that a particular fingering will elicit from the instrument.

Syntonia can be used in group training to illustrate the effects of tuning and fingering on the resulting pitch of the instrument. Because, unlike some other software, Syntonia can handle polyphonic sounds, the fingering of complete chords can be demonstrated to your student group.
